October 12, 20xx Honorable Raymond Timmerman Courtroom 9 - 15th Floor 400 Golden Gate Avenue San Francisco, CA 94102 Dear Judge Timmerman: I am writing this letter in support of one of my parishioners, Mr. William Stroud, CPA, in his recent application to be named as a Bankruptcy Trustee for San Francisco. (See application letter attached). It is my understanding that you may be in a position to put in a good word on his behalf to the U.S. Trustee’s Office. I have known William Stroud for more than five years as both an active parishioner in this Diocese and through his services to the Christianty Church and the community in general. I believe him to be highly trustworthy and dependable person, as well as a skilled and competent professional in his field. Mr. Stroud has been involved extensively in the life of the Diocese both personally and professionally. One valuable service he has provided over the years has been his provision of specialized tax advice to each newly appointed priest. In addition, he and his associates routinely provide diocese staff with accounting, payroll, tax, and general accounting and financial advisory services. These services have all been supplied by his company to the diocese on a pro bono basis. Recently, William Stroud and his associates were called upon to do a special audit of the more than 60 churches in the Diocese. As a further testament to his esteemed standing in the parish, Mr. Stroud has served for five years as the Trustee of St. Bastien’s Christianity Church on California St. in San Francisco. In light of my personal knowledge of Mr. Stroud, and the valuable and exemplary service he has given to this Diocese, I strongly support his application for Bankruptcy Trustee. I believe that any additional support that you could give to Mr. Stroud’s application would ultimately be of significant benefit to both the Diocese and the community at large. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss this further. Yours faithfully, Albert Maldavian, SSJ Bishop, Bay Area Diocese Attach. |
