Dear Ms. Schwartz:
Thank you very much for continuing to consider my application. On April 23rd, I participated in the campus tour at Hofstra Law. The tour was enlightening and informative, and when I spoke with active students who are proud to be studying at Hofstra Law, I realized once again how much I want to study at your school.
I was especially impressed by the diversity of Hofstra Law’s student body because, as an international student, a school's level of diversity is one of my primary concerns. I was already aware of Hofstra Law’s diversity from what I had read on the school’s website and in articles from U.S. News & World Report. However, when I took part in the campus tour with prospective students from different backgrounds and then observed current students in the library, I became convinced that I would fit quite comfortably into your school.
I am also attracted by Hofstra University’s close proximity to New York City. I believe it would give me easy access and exposure to legal networks and externship opportunities in New York City, while studying and living in a quiet and safe location. Studying and working next to one of the most international cities in the world would give me an opportunity to learn about transnational law and would provide me with a broader perspective and knowledge base.
Hofstra Law’s part-time program would be a perfect fit for me. It would allow me to continue my career as a real estate appraiser while in law school to better prepare me with the practical experience and knowledge that I will need after graduation. I am excited and eager about Hofstra Law’s real estate law concentration since as I have a strong interest and extensive knowledge in the commercial real estate industry.
I believe that my diverse working experience both in the U.S.A. and abroad will serve me well at Hofstra Law. Since graduating from college in 20xx, I have worked in three different countries and four different states while pursuing my career in the hospitality industry. During these various transitions, I have learned to respect cultural differences and how to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds, and with many different ideas. In addition, through my work experiences, especially as a commercial real estate appraiser, I have learned how to recognize the important issues when presented with a large amount of information and how to find strategies to deal with them.
In light of the above, I trust that you will continue to consider my application to your highly regarded externship program, an opportunity in which I very much look forward to taking part.
